Interview Experience At Byjus

Hello All. I am back again with yet another blog, sharing with you my complete interview experience at Byjus, the leading k12 online education platform.
One of my friend is associated with Byjus and I often hear from him that life at Byjus is phenomenal. Hence, I thought of trying it once…
Having received an interview call I went to attend the interview scheduled at The Park hotel near park street. The candidates were allocated different time slots and my time slot was 11:30.
After registration at registration desk, I was called for the first round without any delay.

ROUND 1
I was hurled with questions from the very beginning. I was asked what I have been doing for past six months after completion of my graduation. I retorted that I have been working as a web developer in  an IT company.
He then asked me my package.
No sooner did I say 1.8LPA, he came to a conclusion that I was attempting Byjus for money. This kind of perception by an interviewer are often negative. Hence, I tried to highlight other reasons of joining Byjus.
He then asked me why did I want to shift to sales.?
I replied that selling had excited me and I find that there is lot of scope to earn extra by putting in extra efforts in sale while in corporate whatever extra efforts you put in your wages are constant and only defined by your designation.
Since, the job profile they offered demands an employee to deal with students and parents to give academic insight, my Maths and Science  knowledge were checked as well. I was asked some pity questions from middle school and high school.
For instance-
  • Prove sum of angles of a triangle is 180.
  • Prove that sum of two interior is equals to opposite exterior.
  • Among them the tricky one was that I was asked to prove derivative of tan x is sec2x..

To end with they asked me Newton’s Second Law and prove it.
I answered all of them well and cleared the first round. They were giving a sheet having the basic details of Byjus to those clearing the first round.
Seeing the sheet I expected that they might ask to do a mock selling. I gave a thorough reading and was prepared for even the worst case.

ROUND 2
In the panel the HR tried to negotiate with me on the package and brought me down to an offer of 3 LPA from 7 LPA.. He was highlighting my current designation and package to justify the deed. When I showed him my disagreement he increased it by 1 LPA. I still didn't take the offer and so he raised it higher. The bargain continued and I finally settled at 7 LPA. Surely, he was testing my negotiating skills.
By this time I had built a good rapport with the interviewer. He asked me was money the driving force to bring me for the interview.?
Though I was hesitant, albeit I said yes. He seemed to be OK with it and said it's absolutely fine if money drives you. I justified with proper explanation.
Then came something I expected before. The Mock selling!
He asked, “How will you convince a ward who is not at all in support of online education”?

I took few seconds to compose my points and then started. I was constantly trying to highlight that technology is seeping in into our lives at a very rapid rate and if you are not online you are in line..
The conversation was as follows:-
Me: Technology can not be avoided today. Learning means are changing rapidly and this technology is bringing education in an lucrative manner to the students. Today even to teach toddlers robots are being used. Computers and applications has become a primary stuff for education. We know audio visual means are best ways to grab even the most difficult concepts. Technology and techniques exists today that may help a student to visualize even the most complicated scenarios easily.

He: Albeit, I think that if I give my son your tab course, it  will bring him prone to ill online materials that will deviate him from his studies.
Me: Sir, everything has a good as well as a bad side. However good something be people will always find a way to use it in a wrong manner.  Let us suppose you are not giving him any gadget but for how long it could be done. At some point in future you will give him a smart gadget for sure. Why looking at the bad side. A smart gadget has so many good use as well. I personal had experienced tons of utility of having a smart gadget while in school.
He: OK I am convinced. But I need to discuss it with my brother?
Me:(I knew that in sales if it is not now its never. So, I had to close the sale at that very moment).
I showed a gesture as if to leave. I then took a halt and said, ‘Sir, I have 10 more appointments with kids of class 10 today. Those kids will surely compete with ur chap in days to come. In that case if they are taking Byjus preparation today itself your boy will surely lag behind. Moreover sir, there had been lots of times when we had kept a decision pending and they are pending even till date.. We never deley treatment of diseases for better health so why shall we delaying treatment of our learning process for a better career.

So, this was all about my experience at Byjus.
So, I expect my experience will help you in some extent if you are sitting for an interview with Byjus.
Hope it was liked and acknowledged. I will be back with more exciting blog in future.

KPMG Interview Experience

Hello Readers, This blog is about my interview experience with KPMG India. I have covered the intricacies of the interview process along with the questions asked. I must highlight my profile to you guys so that you get the context of the interview. I had 1 year of experience working as a web developer and had worked as an ETL developer at cognizant for 3 years. During my stint, I got to work on tools and technologies like Informatica Powercenter, Informatica B2B Dx, Informatica MFT, Splunk, Python, Shell Scripting, PHP, MongoDB, Laravel, NodeJS, and SQL.  So, let me begin. I have divided it into parts so that it gets easy to comprehend the sections separately.  The Application. I have been applying for jobs since September 2020. In the beginning, I hardly received any calls for the interview. I applied using Naukri and even got a Linkedin premium account. I must admit that most of the calls that I received later were via my applications over LinkedIn but during the initial period, I ha

Cognizant Interview Experience

Hi all, I am back again with a new interview experience with cognizant. The interview was held on 11th March 18, at Unitech, Kolkata …. The candidates who cleared an online assessment by amcat were called for the interview. The assessment was on quantitative, verbal and non verbal questions. Also, there was a coding test of one hour that comprised of two programs. The problems were quite simple based on loops, arrays and functions. However, it must not be taken lightly because some Of the problems were quite challenging. I insists one to solve some questions from hackerank before you sit for the automata round. Let's move on to the interview experience now. My reporting time was 11:00 am and I reached there on time with all the asked documents. The amcat team was present there to assess and check the documents. I must highlight that they are very strict with the documents, so don't miss out carrying any of the document they have asked for. Each of the cand

Technical Interview at Josh Technology

Hi, Its Suraj Jeswara, a Computer Engineer. I had my technical interview under Josh technologies on 29.03.17 conducted by Amcat at BP Poddar Institute of Management & Technology . The technical interview was basically comprised of an online and a written test . The test was far more challenging than anticipated at the beginning. The online test was comprised of quantitative aptitude, computer programming and automata . The quants portion was kinda the one we encounter in Amcat examination. Easy but time crux do exists. In automata section only 2 questions were to be done in 45. Seems pretty easy but I vouch if you are not in flow with coding you can not solve a single one. I could do a pattern problem. Question : Print the following pattern 1 3*2 4*5*6 10*9*8*7 11*12*13*14*15 For n rows… we were suppose to run and compile it against the test cases provided. The 2nd one was on linked list and unfortunetly I couldn’t dispose it on time. The computer prog
