My Experience At Cognizant

Hi, this blog is to give u an idea of the assimilation process of Cognizant

I was interviewed on 11th March for the post of PAT(Program Analyst Trainee).

I received a mail from them regarding my joining and other process involved in 10-15 days post

my interview. They asked to mail and then upload some documents for verification in the

one cognizant portal.

Once the verification was done I was intimated my joining location and Date.

I was asked to report to the cks campus at Chennai on 26th April.

Our admit card was generated a day prior to the reporting date.

After reporting our documents were verified. We were then told about the policies, rules,

and regulations we must abide by in the campus. It was overall a good day.

Nothing to panic if all your documents are proper else they will ask you to report on some other day.

They provided breakfast and lunch coupon for the day along with CTS merchandise including a bag.

At the end of the day we were intimated our training center, room, and point of contact(poc).

So, my training location was 148,ASV Suntech Park(near the Metukuppam bus stop)

I reported there on 27th April. We were seated in the room allotted to us.

Only in the late 2nd half our poc gathered our batch and had a brief introductory session.

The following day and then the next few more days we didn't have any trainers to attend us.

We were Informed about our domain meanwhile, which was data warehousing.

Finally, on the 4th day, a trainer came and informed us about our curriculum.

The trainer was supposed to complete a topic every day and assessments were to be

held after completion of some sections.

We were also supposed to take practice assessments and hands-on daily.

We almost got 2 weeks to prepare before our first assessment.

The trainer used to teach one or two

new topics every day. Meanwhile, we also had our behavioral assessment.

It comprised of questions based on general behavioral traits along with business mail and

essay writing.

So, this was the first part of the story of my joining and stay at Cognizant. Let's head to the 2nd part.

On 17th May, just a day before our assessment 4 trainees from our batch including me

received a mail and was asked to join a conference call at 3:30pm.

We were asked to report to a room at the mentioned time to do so.

It was a shock to us when we found that it was already populated by some trainees who

had joined the training per to us.

The call was connected in the presence of our poc and it was learned that all of us

has been deployed to projects.

The location and joining date were to be intimated the following day. A blend of emotion ran through us.

We were happy for early deployment as well as said for retreating so early from training.

Our poc called us the next day and mentioned 12 names from our class who were to be deployed

as well.

The company was supposed to reimburse 7-day accommodation and travel expenses.

Oops! I missed to tell you my joining location and Date..

Location: Unitech Building, Kolkata. Date: 21st May, 18.

So, on 18th May I got the mail to report to Kolkata by 21st.

Train tickets were not available and the flight was the only option.

Albeit, I was not sure whether fare reimbursement for flight will be made or not.

I called my new POC at Kolkata to postpone my joining date.

However, he didn't agree with it. As a result, I had to book a flight for 20th May.

On 20th I returned back to Kolkata.

Hope you're enjoying my narration. Now let's move to the 3rd part of the story.

I reported to Unitech building on 21st May. I was asked to wait in the meeting room.

On entering there I found 8 new faces. All of them relocated from Pune and I was the only

guy from Chennai.

Towards the end of the first half, some team leads addressed us.

They told that an interview would be held in due course and they would take only 5 out of 9 into

the account named Metlife.

Metlife is one of the prime accounts of CTS and if you're into it you're a lucky lad.

So, we were interviewed. Questions on SQL, Unix, data warehousing and other technology

was asked. I was asked to write a query, some Unix commands and also got a puzzle to solve.

The puzzle is as follows.

Suppose a man has 100 mangoes and every day his appetite for eating mangoes

increases by 6 compared to that of previous day I. E if he eats 2 today he will eat 2+6=8

tomorrow and 8+6=14 on the 3rd day and so on.

In such a situation how long will the mangoes last?

With solving this my interview was over. The result was declared after the recess and

I was selected for MetLife.

Henceforth, we are being trained on the stuff required in the project.

Our seats are being allotted after a long span. We are now working on respective projects.

Training at Chennai had been good and my peers were a pack of fun. CHN18DW020

batch made one of my best memories. I longed to stay back at Chennai but I also feel

glad to be a part of the early deployment.

Hope this blog was a help to you. If you like it don't forget to share.

I wrote this blog to give all the new joiners an idea of the whole process at cognizant.

KPMG Interview Experience

Hello Readers, This blog is about my interview experience with KPMG India. I have covered the intricacies of the interview process along with the questions asked. I must highlight my profile to you guys so that you get the context of the interview. I had 1 year of experience working as a web developer and had worked as an ETL developer at cognizant for 3 years. During my stint, I got to work on tools and technologies like Informatica Powercenter, Informatica B2B Dx, Informatica MFT, Splunk, Python, Shell Scripting, PHP, MongoDB, Laravel, NodeJS, and SQL.  So, let me begin. I have divided it into parts so that it gets easy to comprehend the sections separately.  The Application. I have been applying for jobs since September 2020. In the beginning, I hardly received any calls for the interview. I applied using Naukri and even got a Linkedin premium account. I must admit that most of the calls that I received later were via my applications over LinkedIn but during the initial period, I ha

Cognizant Interview Experience

Hi all, I am back again with a new interview experience with cognizant. The interview was held on 11th March 18, at Unitech, Kolkata …. The candidates who cleared an online assessment by amcat were called for the interview. The assessment was on quantitative, verbal and non verbal questions. Also, there was a coding test of one hour that comprised of two programs. The problems were quite simple based on loops, arrays and functions. However, it must not be taken lightly because some Of the problems were quite challenging. I insists one to solve some questions from hackerank before you sit for the automata round. Let's move on to the interview experience now. My reporting time was 11:00 am and I reached there on time with all the asked documents. The amcat team was present there to assess and check the documents. I must highlight that they are very strict with the documents, so don't miss out carrying any of the document they have asked for. Each of the cand

Technical Interview at Josh Technology

Hi, Its Suraj Jeswara, a Computer Engineer. I had my technical interview under Josh technologies on 29.03.17 conducted by Amcat at BP Poddar Institute of Management & Technology . The technical interview was basically comprised of an online and a written test . The test was far more challenging than anticipated at the beginning. The online test was comprised of quantitative aptitude, computer programming and automata . The quants portion was kinda the one we encounter in Amcat examination. Easy but time crux do exists. In automata section only 2 questions were to be done in 45. Seems pretty easy but I vouch if you are not in flow with coding you can not solve a single one. I could do a pattern problem. Question : Print the following pattern 1 3*2 4*5*6 10*9*8*7 11*12*13*14*15 For n rows… we were suppose to run and compile it against the test cases provided. The 2nd one was on linked list and unfortunetly I couldn’t dispose it on time. The computer prog
